Joan Vilà is a Catalan composer and filmmaker with a distinguished career in creating original scores for feature films, series, documentaries, video games, and short films. His work has been internationally recognized with numerous awards and nominations.

Recently, he was selected among the outstanding international composers at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. In Los Angeles, he received the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best International Score for Quién eres. In 2023 and 2025, he won Best Original Score at the Molins de Rei International Horror Film Festival for the films Y todos arderán and Silencio. He has also been honored with the Jerry Goldsmith Award and has received nominations for Best Original Score at various international events. Including FIMUCITÉ International Film Music Festival, the Musimagen Awards, and the Fugaz Awards. Most recently, he was nominated at the Spanish Music Academy Awards for Silencio and at the MundoBSO Awards for the documentary Noah.
