Yulia is a Ukrainian composer and pianist based between Barcelona and Valencia, Spain. She is the recipient of the 2024 SGAE Nova Autoria Award for Best Original Score for the short film De-sastre at the Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival, as well as the Best Original Score Award at the Sorihuela del Guadalimar Film Festival and the Musimagen Awards.

She began her musical career as a classical pianist in Ukraine before completing her studies at the Conservatory of Music in Valencia. She later earned a Master’s degree in Audiovisual Composition from the Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya (ESMUC).

In 2019, she took part in the international GEMS program, where she studied with renowned Hollywood composers including Christopher Young, Garry Schyman, and Pete Anthony. During this period, she recorded her composition Missouri Sky with the Mad4Strings Orchestra in Madrid.

In 2021, she released her debut solo piano album, Themes for Absent Pictures, followed in 2022 by the electronic music EP How to Name Colors, created in collaboration with DJ Lucia Gea.

In 2022, she collaborated with film composer Liam Bates. While completing her studies at ESMUC, she composed music for several short films and animated projects, including an episode of Una mà de contes for TV3, as well as scores for a number of documentary films.
